A full backyard rebuild in Auburn, transforming an unusable space into a clean, level lawn with defined structure. The project included excavation, retaining wall construction and full turf installation to create a practical, low-maintenance outdoor area.
Before: Unusable and Uneven Backyard
The existing yard was cluttered with demolition waste, uneven ground and poor levels. There was no usable lawn space, and the area lacked structure and functionality.
Build Process
The project began with a full site clean-out, removing debris and preparing the area for excavation. The backyard was then excavated and re-levelled to establish the correct fall for drainage.
A concrete sleeper retaining wall was installed along the boundary to define the space and support the new levels. Once complete, the area was prepared with a compacted base before turf was installed to create a clean, level lawn.
Result
The finished result is a clean, level backyard that is now fully usable and easy to maintain. The retaining wall provides structure and support, while the new turf transforms the overall look and functionality of the space.
